Fantastic experience: I contacted James looking to arrange a last minute pretest a few days before my actual test. During the pretest we went over a possible test route and he gave me some excellent advice on areas that I need to work on. He was particularly good at helping me to improve my reverse around the corner maneuver. Negative experience: Can’t speak about the lessons as it never got to them. I have booked with James back beginning of February for March the 25. And just an hour before the test he canceled it, saying he will reschedule. Few days go by with no answer finally after me sending him 3 rd message he responds saying he is now fully booked out for evening lessons and can no longer accommodate me. after calling him out for this and saying I would leave a bad review he magically finds a slot for me for every seconds week, and now me having to come to the test center as opposed to him picking me up. I am guessing he gave this inconvenient option so I would just pass on my own. So to me this man James is an absolute joke wasted over a month of my time and lied to me, because he does not care as there’s a lot of people waiting anyway. But for me it wasted 2 months of where I could have been learning to drive P.s I am guessing he might comment under this saying I am lying. But feel free to dm for screenshoots of our conversation as proof of my claims.

He talks through everything in a clear way and checks in on the student regularly. He was also happy to adapt the lesson to how I would like it which helped me immensely. I recommend James 100%

Fantastic experience: James was really helpful is ensuring I got my driver's license. I hadn't been driving much over the last 6–9 months after doing my initial lessons elsewhere, and within 4 lessons with James I had passed my test. In my first lesson, I made 18 errors and butchered reversing around the corner. By lesson 3 I had halved the mistakes, and in my actual test after lesson 4, I only made 3 marginal mistakes. With each lesson, he provided very clear and easy to understand instructions on how to cut out some of the mistakes and bad habits I had picked up over time. Would absolutely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I done my first pre test with James 10 days ago and I had about 27 grade 2’s and he explained everything in a excellent way on how to improve and avoid the mistakes. After taking his notes on, I done another pre test yesterday and my grade 2 faults went down to 16. I then took his notes on board again and I just passed my driving test today. So happy with the service and would defo recommend.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend James Hickey enough. I have been driving a number of years but just couldn't pass the test over minor things or some bad habits I'd picked up which started to really affect my confidence. Once I got my new test date, I contacted James to organise some pre-tests as he was also familiar with the particular route for my test centre. I found James very open and honest on areas that needed work and didn't sugar coat any aspects that needed attention. This is where James came in and was absolutely brilliant with his patience, delivery and eye for spotting any bad habits I had. I also loved that he made himself available at any times requested. After just one pretest, he was able to pick up all my bad habits and the next few lessons were spent fixing them.
