Fantastic experience: Really happy with Gary as an instructor. He's a gentleman and has a good calming demeanour which I think is a great quality for a driving instructor. He explains things in a clear and easy to understand way and I found learning with him to be a pleasure. When I got stressed or messed up at a junction or some tricky situation, he was cool, calm and collected and really helpful in rectifying it and explaining what I could have done better after the situation had passed. I passed first time today in Dundalk and would have no hesitation in recommending Gary to any aspiring new drivers, young or old! If there was an award for having the patience of a saint, Gary would win it!

Fantastic experience: Did 3 driving lessons with Gary on the weekend before my practical exam. Gary was extremely professional and courteous and was able to identify and correct my bad driving habits within that time. Needless to say, we were able to get a PASS on my first attempt! Fantastic experience: Can't recommend McBride Driving School enough. I passed my test on the first attempt earlier this week. My instructor Ryan was amazing. Very patient and clear with directions, punctual, very encouraging, and he pointed out different things to be aware of on the test. I had an extra lesson with him right before my test which greatly boosted my confidence going into it. Overall I couldn’t ask for a better experience in learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test today with the help of Gary, was delighted to get over the line and get the result I wanted, I was very nervous going into the pre test but my instructor was able to calm my nerves and we ended up not going through a mock test but just driving casually and going back over the basics which help me relax back into the driving itself, I then went into the test with confidence in my ability, took it slow and got the pass, would highly recommend all aspects of this driving school !

His teaching methods definitely aligned with my learning style (being allowed to make my mistakes and figuring them out on my own with his assistance increasing my confidence; not overbearing). Fantastic experience: Was struggling with passing the driving test for a long time. But once I joined up and had Gary teaching me, it was life changing and he reallys shows his experience and how much care and love he has for his job and for the people he has helped to pass the driving test like me.

Fantastic experience: I did a few pre-tests with Gary. I passed with only 2 minor mistakes. Gary is very good at working on the things you are not doing well. He made me do a lot of right turns until l mastered keeping on to the right. If you ring McBride please ask to talk to Gary straight away. He knows what he is doing and please take every word that comes out of that man’s mouth.

So if you would of asked me nearly a year ago would I pass my driving test, my response would be "Hell no, I'd never pass my test". But with research, word of mouth, friends who have used McBride as their ADI's I went for McBride to do all my essential driving training. With no previous experience, Gary McBride (owner of McBride Driving School) allowed me to become a student of McBride Driving School, taking time and assisted the development of my driving career. Built my confidence levels up, explained what the module was at the start of the lesson, built my patience up, massively believed and supported me during my journey of becoming a fully licensed driver. Gary has succeeded to teach me easy to learn and most importantly to internalize sequences that in a short time became second nature and allowed me to pass the driving test with pretty much a clean sheets. Fantastic experience: I Completed my 12 lessons with Dave , I really enjoyed my time under dave's lessons. I found he was easy to listen to , never made me panic under instruction and has a nice informal style that allows you to feel comfortable as you learn and grow in confidence.

Fantastic experience: Was on the cancellation list and got a week's notice for my test, so googled driving lessons and McBrides were the first one I saw and had 5 stars so have them a call. Gary went out of his way to accommodate me and give me as many lessons as he could throughout the week. I asked him for direct feedback on my driving and he advised me in a no nonsense and constructive way of where I had room to improve. He noticed tiny little things I never even thought about and made me realise what is actually being looked at during the test. Throughout the week he went through everything I needed for the test, from all of the routes to the questions and checks on the car etc., made sure I left every lesson with areas to practice for the next time, and showed genuine interest when asking how I got on with them. I was a bit nervous and overwhelmed at the start of the week due to the pressure of the test and the fact that I'd have to wait months to take it again, but Gary was fantastic. He genuinely seemed to care that I passed the test and his patience was endless, even messaging me after it to see how I got on, which was a nice touch. If you're nervous and just starting to learn or you want to brush up on your driving coming up to your test I honestly can't recommend Gary highly enough, and it shows that he has years of experience and genuinely cares about what he does, which makes a huge difference to your confidence. It makes sense he has such a high pass rate, plus his prices are very reasonable and well worth the money. Thanks again Gary, you're a hero! :)
