RSA Mulhuddart Driving Test Centre: Reviews
Negative experience: Avoid this test center at all costs. Testers are rude and make you feel uncomfortable during the test, keep asking you to drive when you find it is unsafe.
Negative experience: My tester was a very old man. He didn't even wear a fluorescent vest when he tested me. He looked very anxious and rush and hurry during the test, and asked me to stop three or four times for no reason. Moreover, the whole test process made me feel very uncomfortable. I got sick when I came home after the test. I don't want anyone to come to this place for the road test.
Negative experience: I would like to address my disappointing experience at this location, particularly with the driving inspector, Michael Kelly, during my driving test. His behavior was unprofessional, and I found him to be arrogantly dismissive. He did not provide clear explanations regarding the mistakes I made, leaving me confused and frustrated. It's concerning that someone exhibiting such attitude and stress would be in a position of authority at such a high-pressure job. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location for your driving test.
Negative experience: Had my first test with a lovely man called Gary. He was very welcoming, helped me stay very calm. Such a smooth test for my first attempt but unfortunately, I did not pass that test. Three weeks later I was able to sit my second test with the most intolerant man I’ve ever met. Didn’t even catch his name I was so in shock. A complete switch. Not only did he cut me off whilst I was answering the theory questions, he rushed the test entirely. We were back within 20 minutes, and he failed me entirely on progress. I picked up 7 grade 2’s for PROGRESS. So bipolar. He told me to book a test immediately, that I was ready for another one. So why was I not ready today?? God bless you if you experience your test with this man. This same tester failed a friend of a friend 3 times and when she got a different tester for her fourth test, she passed with flying colours. He clearly needs to think about his life decisions as he seems miserable in this job.
Negative experience: Not satisfied with driving test. Tester didn’t put adequate time on testing as if he got a target to fail the candidate. He was not ready to share the reason why he failed the candidate. Totally unprofessional.
Negative experience: I won’t recommend this centre for your sanity! The instructor’s seems confused! They ditch out an instruction for you to take miles ahead, say turning at end of the road, and instantly want you to start acting on it - by unnecessarily gesticulating their hands as if the instruction wasn’t copied!❌ They look straight and don’t even turn their necks to check if I was observing the mirrors - falsely concluding, I wasn’t; by the way, I am tall, with long neck and longsighted, so it is easy for me to just rotate my neck or eye socket without you knowing I am observing round! In the overall test, if you make one or two mistake, they cook up the report to meet the failure threshold - very unethical individuals! I clearly understand that part of the tester’s KPI and mandate is to make more money for the RSA with repeated failure and re-test fee! The testers can also put up a bit of friendly posture - it does not take anything out from them. I will have to propose to Google to include a “0” review rating, as this centre doesn’t even deserve a “1”!
Fantastic experience: Had my exam today and I have to say it was a great place, I had passed on my first try which I’m really happy with, the examiner was really great and was clear with instructions. Also wanted to say thanks to National Driving School with providing me with one of the best instructors named Trevor, he is fantastic and really helped me prepare well for my driving exam!!!
Fantastic experience: I had lessons with Trevor from National Driving School and he helped me so much to understand how to drive safely and what to do with difficult maneuvers- a lot of practice patience and skill so highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Passed my test here first time, with thanks to my wonderful instructor Trevor at NDS. His encouragement and expertise had me well prepared for the Mulhuddart test routes, definitely recommend if you're in this area. Also need to praise my tester James who was very professional with a calm demeanor, it put me at ease right away!
Fantastic experience: So happy to say - I passed my test yesterday! I had a great experience & a really lovely examiner, James, who didn't mind if I asked him to repeat instructions & made me feel at ease. Would not have passed without the guidance from Kevin at National Driving School. He is an incredible instructor - calm, patient & excellent communication on how to improve.
Fantastic experience: Good driving test centre with nearby eating facilities. The test area has quite a few speed bumps and the area around the shopping centre can get quite busy. The Test Routes App has all the latest routes.
Fantastic experience: Passed my test here. Thanks to the excellent direction from my instructor Trevor from National Driving School, I had practised in test routes around this area and was familiar with the route. I got an early morning slot on the day of the test at 8.30 AM which is peak time but was the only slot available. The tester was very pleasant and casual. And I feel this made all the difference.
Fantastic experience: Would recommend this driving test centre! Testers are friendly and don’t mind if you need to ask for repeat instructions. I was a nervous driver and put it off for a long time but thanks to Trevor at National Driving school I passed first time! I wouldn’t have been able to pass without all his help and patience along the way!
Fantastic experience: Passed my test today with the tester Alan in Mulhuddart, great guy, definitely made me feel at ease while doing my test.
Negative experience: My son arrived early for his driving test for 9.15 am only to receive a text telling him that his test was cancelled due to weather conditions but it was not cancelled by the RSA when he rang them.
Positive experience: Very pleasant waiting room
Fantastic experience: Tough situations didn’t stop me ace my test in first attempt today here, Kudos to my amazing and extremely helpful trainer Krzysztof ( Chris ) who helped me with tricky roads of maple house. His lessons and tips to tackle complex situations truly got me over the line! Highly recommend him any day ✌️. Thanks a Million Chris :) . Not to forget the tester Stephen was really nice and provided instructions on time to make my life easy!
Negative experience: 5 time's failed, unprofessional, favorable and rude,77% failure. Won't recommend it to anyone
Fantastic experience: Passed my test today at this centre. On top of the poor weather, it was quite a tricky route but big thanks to Krzys (Chris) of National Driving School for a brilliant Pretest lesson prior to my official test. The tester was very fair and gave clear instructions throughout the exam.
Fantastic experience: Excellent test centre. Prompt professional testers who really put you at ease throughout the test. Not upset if you ask a clarification question to a request and gives in depth feedback to your faults after so you know what to work on. Passed first time and credit a lot to how relaxed the tester made me.
Negative experience: No way to get driving licence in mulhudart house . Need to be driver training to get it . The lest word from the tester ( I know in the 3 world countries have no roundabout) !!!! My 1 drive licence 1999 . 2 drive licence 2016 in the harder place to get drive licence ( california) USA .
Negative experience: Not fit for purpose. I will be writing an open letter to the RSA about this centre. How the staff working here can ignore public feedback and continue to allow unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour on behalf of instructors to continue is incomprehensible. The RSA need to address the problems with this centre immediately. It is easy to see why it has the lowest pass rate in the entire country once you read through a handful of reviews. Completely unacceptable to have a near 70% fail rate particularly when it’s clear there are abysmal unprofessional instructors overseeing these tests. Please resolve this mess immediately!!
Negative experience: Just pray you don’t get Micheal Kelly, rude and angry and didn’t even let me sit the exam because of factory installed tints that passed NCT and I also sat another test with the same car and tints and the instructor had no problems.he should be sacked
Fantastic experience: The best Centre I meet a very good gentleman. That help me relax and I passed my test because he made me feel comfortable.
Negative experience: testers are absolute liars here, was supposed to have a test in early march when no nct exemption was in place, was told complete lies, had the test rescheduled to tallaght where test took place two days after, still waiting on compensation from rsa for loss of income Edit post was not published due to some choice words March of 2022
Negative experience: failed twice here with the lowest percentage of pass in the country. Keep failing me for 0 reason
Negative experience: Cannot believe this test centre is paid by taxpayer to provide such an abysmal service. Driving test cancelled again for the third time in the space of a month. Weather cited for two cancellations ( including todays) even though roads are completely clear. No reason given for third cancellation. RSA cannot be advocates for road safety when they don’t provide a service to test learner drivers. Service needs to be handed over to a private company as they are driving on the roads today. Disgraceful!
Negative experience: I had a terrible experience in this place and I decided not to go back to have a driving test. I would advise don't go there as the person that was supposed to do the test was rude. I found this place very unprofessional.
Fantastic experience: If you are going for a motorbike driving test, don't go here, it's wrong one!
Negative experience: I passed but got no verbal feedback whatsoever from the examiner. How will I know what to improve on? The report shows the areas of fault but I can't even remember when I made those errors. That's what the verbal feedback would have taken care of. During the test, the examiner was screaming "stop" when he knew it wasn't a good spot. I drove straight forward to find a good place before I eventually stopped. The waiting time is also ridiculous. I thought I was going to meet a busy office but to my dismay the office was practically empty. Now I am almost sure that the long waiting time might be more of an administrative problem.
Negative experience: Tester wouldn't even let me finish the test and was so rude to me and my instructor. I'm not used to going through national ways and I feel like he brought me through the N3 on purpose. After that he brought me straight back to the test centre. I had barely done any driving and I'm somehow being told that I got 4 major faults. Apparently the same happened with 2 others around the same time as me, before and after. Don't recommend whatsoever and I'm starting to feel the RSA are a scam in general
Fantastic experience: according to some negative comments this centre should be awful but after my experience i would highly recommend this driving test centre and especially Barry he was really nice and i just passed
Positive experience: Good driving test center
Fantastic experience: Don't let the previous reviews throw you off or scare you. Before my test I was checking the reviews to get an idea of what i was going into. They don't mean anything. I had Gerard as my examiner and he was truly lovely! I highly recommend taking a test here.
Positive experience: I have been doing my driving test a few times in this test center I think the testers are very patient and friendly, especially Gerald .
Negative experience: I just did my driving there and the person was Michale Kelly one of the worst instructers u can even get for a test. He's just sitting there for his own biased oppion, he made up all the excuses he can to fail me. 1 he thought that I shouldnt have braked ''that harsh'' at the one of the ramps I took. 2 I should accelerate in speed to get through a roundabout within a short gap according to him and get us both killed. 3 and for one he's not even sure with his answer by him saying ' I think you didn't stop at the stop sign' but thank god I had give him the answer. More over as a candidate I didn't feel any relaxed or welcomed in any way by him for the test. To be honest guys this driving test is just a money making business for them, and if there is anywhere else I could complain more about this please let me know. I'm genuinely tired of going to this driving test.
Negative experience: They moved to Carlton hotel, Dohigg whatever is his name shouldn’t be working there. he is old, rude and tired, as his attitude showed he can’t work under pressure, I passed the test but he yelled at me, blamed me for prolonging the test, I paid for his time. RSA please consider any review system for your testers. They act like Gods and get rude to nervous learners, I restrained myself punching the tester because he knows my name and address otherwise I would have straightened him up for the future generation
Negative experience: A dump
Negative experience: This number is not in use
Positive experience: Even though I Failed the test but it was great experience with Pat.
Fantastic experience: Still waiting my test since August 20. I hope getting it soon and I'm trying to practice as much as I can to be prepared. I really need it, my wife is pregnant and not vaccinated of course. We need to be as far as we can from the people for her health and safety.
Negative experience: Worst driving test centre in Ireland. Ran by the rsa which speaks for its self. Biggest scam and con artists in the EU. Rip of drivng tests with a letter of complaint going in about the way I was treated during my test. Shame on you Rsa SHAME....
Fantastic experience: Great experience here. Testers are always fair. If you put the work in, you will pass.
Negative experience: Corrupt as like any other test centre
Negative experience: Had my driving test here about a year ago and it still plagues me to this day... not a positive experience in the slightest. I’m not 100% sure but I’m nearly certain the tester was called Roisin, small with dark hair. Made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy from beginning to end, criticising me throughout the test. When approaching a roundabout I simply misheard her, I thought she told me to take the third exit, told me I was making her ‘dizzy’ and that she had asked me to take the second exit. Other snide remarks and huffing and puffing which just threw me off completely! when we arrived back to the test centre she said ‘I shouldn’t be so nervous’. Incredibly unprofessional. Thumbs down for mulhuddart.
Negative experience: Minimal to no feedback giving at the end of the test.
Positive experience: Cold place to wait. Thankfully there is a big petrol station beside it. Test going out onto the busy N3 is tricky.
Negative experience: I've booked in for a Test several months ago, still waiting, no approximate time or date, tried ringing the number presented and it simply rings out, or doesn't exist. I understand we're in the middle of a pandemic, but some clarification would be good.
Fantastic experience: Great test center! good location! Professional testers! If you don't pass the test it means your not ready yet and you still have work to do the testers are fair!
Fantastic experience: Just passed my test with Mulhuddart test Centre. I had a gentleman called Ray he was amazing he helped me feel calm he was so nice I cannot thank him enough
Fantastic experience: Passed test first time today, was very nervous but tester was very professional and helpful.
Negative experience: Got a tester with a nasty mood, made me feel like I'm being punished for what's going on in his life. Tester was in a hurry, didn't check brake lights and avoided hand signals, even one time didn't provide direction as I was approaching a roundabout, I had to ask for the direction, he used a paper instead of a tablet and took lot of time to send the sheet. Not to mention that the test was conducted 20 mins earlier than the scheduled time, I was called right after entering the centre I didn't even manage to take a seat. It feels like wasting time and money to be humiliated, horrible experience!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely delighted got a lovely tester Alan Hickey , he made me feel at ease through out whole test.
Negative experience: One star because I can't choose zero. Really bad customer service. Result of your test seems to be dependant on whether or not you get a tester in a good mood and if they have passed too many customers already
Fantastic experience: Absolutely delighted got a lovely tester James made me feel at ease through out whole test
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the entire system, especially the customer service and experience as first time taking the test in Ireland. As they say in Ireland, a little power can be a dangerous thing. I am pretty sure the employees are stable and secure on their jobs with no need to perform or provide a good service and no matter how poor the service they provide might be they still have no risk of losing their jobs, neither receiving warnings for poor performance or at least further education. On Thursday 01/08/2019 at 12:15 I had my test with the tester called Alan (if I am not mistaken), which provided in my opinion the lowest quality and unfriendlier service resulting in an unfair result. Results which probably depend on the way the drive tester is feeling on the day, and for my bad luck clearly mine wasn’t having the best day of his life or simply did not want to be there (that is what I felt). There was no proper introduction on how the test would be conducted and in the end where they are supposed to give you a feedback, felt like being kicked out of the centre while he told me ( we are done here! all the results will be sent to you by email, you have to go now cause I already have someone else to test, having no time or patience from the beginning to the end.) No wonder why the passing rate at this centre in 2018 was 49.52%. it made me realise that its not about your driving skills it is how the tester are feeling on the day. Good luck to you. Hope you get a tester that is feeling good on the day of your test which due this low passing rate, seems like the tester in this centre very rarely have a good day.
Fantastic experience: Great RSA test centre for the Dublin West area. Testers are fantastic and fair. Mulhuddart is a up and coming area of Blanchardstown. There is a large brand new garage next door with plenty of amenities for before and after your driving test. Situated beside the M3 it’s pretty handy to find. Best of luck to anyone going for your driving test from the Ladybird Driving School team
Negative experience: Impossible place to find. It is like if the RSA put it there on purpose so that no one could find it. No visible signs, etc
