Fantastic experience: I highly recomend

Fantastic experience: Phillip is an excellent driving instructor. I had 2 pre test lessons with him and during these lessons, he was very thorough with what questions could be asked during the test. He also taught me useful phrases to help remember things that would be important for the test. For the driving, he isn't afraid to hold back criticisms, which is very important if you want to avoid making too many mistakes in the test. Furthermore, Phillip even went in the test centre with me to give some last minute tips, and also cracked some jokes to help ease the mood. I would strongly recommend him as an driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test today, I done 3 pre tests with Phillip total, I found him very patient and great advice that sticks in your head he has good use of lingos for you to remember and makes the lesson enjoyable 10/10 would recommend

Negative experience: Did two lessons with Philip having got his number from my sisters who had both done a mock test with him before passing. In my second lesson with Philip he asked me to pull over to express how he never had as many issues with my sisters as he did with me. He told me I was ruining his car and he didn’t want to teach me again. He then asked to speak to my mother (I’m 21 years old) to tell her I wasn’t grasping it (after 2 lessons) and that I needed to buy an automatic car. Haven’t been in contact since! I’m sure Philip is helpful for pre-tests with more experienced drivers but definitely not enough patience to be a teacher !

Fantastic experience: Philip is an amazing driving instructor he had alot of patient in teaching me and He has funny way for you to remember short words like GOSH BBC PATCH get a fruit cake out of here after that you are more relaxed and no stress so u could enjoy driving He helped me build confidence to drive. Fantastic experience: I completed my 12 lessons with Philip and he was a fantastic instructor. He had lots of patience and explained everything perfectly with quirky sayings so I will never forget them. I passed my test first time last week thanks to Philip.

Fantastic experience: I did my 12 EDT lessons with Philip and I am glad I choose him as my driving instructor. All of my lessons I did with him and I have no complaints. Not only did he teach me how to drive from scratch he went the extra mile to make sure that I felt comfortable in the car making sure that my driving was correct. He is extremely kind and he is easy to get along with. Anyone that is struggling to do or find driving lessons I highly recommend doing them with Philip. He does not disappoint.

Fantastic experience: Philip is hands down the best driving instructor there is out there. He tells you what you need to do and to improve on without sugar-coating it. What made me stick with him from EDT lessons 1-12 is when we were crossing the street and he noticed 3 cars who did not stop on the intersection where it says Stop, and he just lost his mind! I knew then and there that he takes driving seriously. He is very friendly, accommodating, skillful and good craic! If you're in the north side area of Dublin and want to learn how to drive PROPERLY, Philip is your guy! Thanks a million, and never forget to be mindful of Pat and his friends when reversing! :)

Fantastic experience: Did all 12 EDT lessons with Philip and two pre-tests. During all these lessons Philip always remained calm under pressure and provided really useful information on how to drive. Learning in a bigger car also helps provide a more comfortable experience which helps create more confidence while learning as opposed to the smaller cars most other instructors use.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking to pass your test Philip is the best you can go to !! I can’t stress it enough , done a lesson/pre test with Philip and he was extremely helpful, also calmed me down and made me more confident he is amazing in what he does ! Philip has great tips and helped me out a lot pin pointed exactly what I needed to focus on and made sure I got all my mistakes perfect before finishing up

Fantastic experience: When I started my lessons with Philip I had a lot of bad habits. We did a bit of work together and he made me feel very confident to go for the test. Philip put me at ease right at the start. He was an absolute gentleman. We did a couple of pre lessons and I knew exactly what to do in each situation in order to pass the test. I would definitely recommend him for EDT and pre tests.

Fantastic experience: The best driving instructor on god no cap, made me feel very comfortable to drive with my confidence and really gave me great fundamentals to take with me to my test. Had a fun and positive atmosphere in the car felt very comfortable when driving beside him. Did all 12 lessons with my car, but due to something happening I had to sit the test in his vehicle. His vehicle is a brand new 2021 VW, with great features which aided my test slightly, still don't think I would've passed first try with my own car. Completed all 12 EDT lessons with him and had only a pretest with his car and still managed to pass first try. Highly recommend him for experienced drivers having to sit 12EDTS or even young new drivers just starting off on the road. 5 Stars of course , cant get any better than him Reading below reviews of people saying he wont teach new unexperienced drivers is WRONG, I was very unexperienced at the start with little none actual driving experience and so did my friend who recommended Philip to me after a bad experience with a driving school company. He uses fun stories and ensure good driving habits stick with you even after passing the lessons. He's a great personality and extremely experienced in his field. Owe him a lot since he got me ready for my test in a short amount of time and him holding me to a high standard of driving.

Negative experience: 20 minutes into my first "lesson" with Phillip he said I was un-teachable yet took my money for the hour! Refusing to respond to my request for half back. I found the experience awful. When refering to how to operate the gear stick he kept saying imagine you are giving your partner a slap! I found him very impatient. He did send useful information before I met him but I would not recommend him for a nervous learner. And would not give even 1 star

Fantastic experience: Did my first two hour lesson with Philip about a week ago and learnt more in that lesson than I have with countless other teachers. Made me feel at ease and honestly have no complaints whatsoever. Absolutely can't wait for my next lesson.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first two hour lesson with Phillip he was very patient with me I was nervous he put me at ease and he communicated everything to me in a cool calm manner . Fantastic experience: Phillip accepted my request to rent his car for the driving test on a very short notice. We had pre-test and warm-up classes where he helped me to build up my confidence by using strong motivational words and gave me detailed feedback on where I could improve. He listened carefully to my asks, i.e when I needed to do the manoeuvres on my own, and also clarified all the questions I had. His modern car has very useful features for the exam, like the electric parking brake for hill starts, tilt-down side mirror for reversing on the corner, rear camera and parking sensor for turnabout. Even with all this technological features, Phillip won't let you forget the observations. Phillip is a good crack, he will have a good story to help you to memorize the theory stuff.

Negative experience: 15/9 I had my first driving lesson with Philip and my second 29/9, which was my last. During my two experiences I noticed he was very impatient, rude and irritable. A lot of mistakes were made, which is to be expected when first learning how to drive but in my 2nd lesson I was much more confident as I noticed myself I was making better progress. He would raise his voice if I was in an incorrect gear and at the end of my 2nd lesson when I asked when was next to book he told me I "needed to find someone different since I was wrecking his car". I would have been much more comfortable if he hadnt of waited 2 hours to tell me and to have given him my hard earned money. I am extremely upset how he hadn't given any constructive critisim at all, it is clear that he chooses only to schedule people who have experience driving. I now am left to stress if he will even give me my logbook. I will definetly not be recommending to anyone who I know looking to do driving lessons. No apology was given at all. so if you are complete newbie never sat in a driving seat before don’t even bother going with him. he will not teach you…

Fantastic experience: As an extremely nervous Driver, Philip had the patience of a saint, his fantastic driving tips and little memorable quotes really helped me remember the rules of the road and stay focused while driving and doing the test. Over two years since I passed and I still remember all the tips and quotes Philip taught me. Not to mention his great online lessons to study and prepare for the test. Philip goes above and beyond to help his students. The man is a gentleman and very professional and even after you pass your test Philip offers support on Motorway driving. I could not recommend Philip highly enough. If you want to learn to drive and pass your test Philip is the man to get you there.

Fantastic experience: Philip is a very patient man I booked him for my mother who had failed her test 3 times and was totally giving up all her confidence was gone and she just wanted to sell her car so I PM Philip and explained to him so arranged for him to take my mam out for a few lessons b4 she rebooked another test after one lesson with him you could see her confidence coming back she continued a few lessons then booked her test and passed id highly recommend him to teach you how to drive since then my nephew has also done 12 lessons and has passed his test both have full driving licenses and it was down to the Philips patience explaining and total communication in his lessons that helped both them pass thank you again Philip

Fantastic experience: Philip is an amazing instructor!!! Very confident which empowered me with confidence when he was teaching me how to drive!!! And then I recommend him to my sister Laura and Boom same result she passed and had all the same impressions of Philip as I had, but that not all my friend Aoife flailed twice so I told her about Philip and after two weeks with him she passed!!! Negative experience: I Began my long awaited driving lessons with Philip Kirwan almost 3 weeks ago.. He was very pleasant, courteous and eager to get me started. After showing me the workings of the car I set off. Like most new learners who never sat in the drivers seat before there was a lot of information to take in. When I made any errors he was impatient and was getting annoyed with me. We finished that lesson early. Second lesson was much better as I seem to have a grasp of it. Third lesson was a complete disaster. I made a couple of errors and he was so rude. His attitude was disgraceful. He told me I was wrecking his modern car and he wasnt going to teach me again. The fact that the people behind us were unaware that it was an instructors car didn't help. It displayed an L sign.I lost all confidence and headed home. He apologised for his behaviour and admitted he should have remembered I was only learning. Too late Philip . Your attitude stinks. Your behaviour was disgraceful and so unprofessional. Remainder of my lessons I cancelled.
