Fantastic experience: Mick is the best instructor. I passed the driving test yesterday hiring his car. Took a class and mock-test from him before going for the test. He was always accurate, right to the point highlighting the mistakes and correcting the same. I highly recommend his classes.

Fantastic experience: I passed my Driving test in first attempt at Carrick-on-Shannon. Credit goes to Michael. I am from Navan but just did a pretest and a lesson with Michael to understand the test routes and hotspots right before my actual test. It was all worth. Even though it was a mock test he explained everything in detail and really made me repeat each manoeuvre until I overcame my faults and do them correctly. Amazing Instructor.

Fantastic experience: I had the 12 EDT lessons and a pretest lesson with Michael. He was a good driving instructor and uploaded lessons to the system. I passed my driving test yesterday.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't recommend Micheal any higher. He is incredibly knowledgeable and makes everything very easy to understand. Always had fun in the lessons with him and passed 1st time with only 2 faults, all thanks to him.

Fantastic experience: Michael is a solid instructor, his approach is direct, detail oriented and will give you all pointers needed to pass the test. I went through a heap of instructors in Dublin before him and I can say he is one of the better ones. I’d recommend him to get you that pass!

Negative experience: If I could, I would give 0 stars. Avoid at all cost, especially if you are a woman! This man is extremely unprofessional, obnoxious and nasty. His bullying, berating and gaslighting (google the term!) got to the point were I felt so unsafe with him that I had to leave the car and call my husband to pick me up from the side of the road. It started off by him telling me i was "wobbling the steering wheel" while driving. Keeping in mind that I had been driving for 27 years at that point (but needed an Irish license as my licence was from another country). I had passed my driving test first time and even by his own admission (on the first lesson), my driving was to "a high standard" and he could not find any faults. Then he told me I "wobble the steering wheel" even though I was going in a straight line. There was no wobbling, swaying or shaking at all. He forced me to drive on the hard shoulder from carrick on shannon all the way up to the exit for Leitrim village, doing around 20-30 km an hour, telling me that I should do what he tells me. He barked "I know you are an experienced driver, but you will do what I tell you. Do you understand? If I want you to go right, you turn right. If I want you to go left, you will turn left. And if I want you to go straight ahead I wont say anything. Do you understand?" He told me this while stopped on the hard shoulder. Then he told me to drive off again, and because I was going to pull off the hard shoulder onto the N4, he lost his temper again and said " did I tell you to drive off the hard shoulder?" So I continued on the hard shoulder, he then told me to put my left hand on my left leg while driving. After a few seconds he told me to put my left hand back on the steering wheel and then put my right hand on my right leg still while driving. I had to do this intermittently. The hard shoulder became smaller and smaller, yet he didn't tell me to set an indicator and join the N4. I just joined the N4 when there was no more hard shoulder. Later on, when I put the indicator to left instead of right ( I was so afraid by then to make a mistake) he said "i told you to indicate right! Another mistake!" After I went over a speed bump he pulled the steering wheel to the side again, demanding to PULL OVER and breaking the pedals. Again he barked "Did you not see that speed bump. You were too fast!" I was terrified at that point and just wanted to make it back, so I kept calm and quiet. The drive continued in that way, with him stopping the car asking me "Did I not tell you to do this? Did I not tell you to do that? So why did you not do it then?!" Then he told me to "cover the break!" He never told me what that meant, but I just assumed it meant take the foot off the gas and hover it over the break pedal. Thats what I did. At one point I didn't hover the foot over the break but left it hovering over the gas pedal and he pulled the car over again, breaking the pedals, shouting at me if i had not heard him tell me to hover my foot over the break pedal! So why didnt you do it then?! I was shaking, but this time i spoke up and asked him if he was ok? He snarled at me that he was doing his job and i should do mine, that if I cant do what he tells me to do, then he wont take me driving into the town as he would have to be afraid that i smash against a wall. He justified this by saying, that my wobbling of the steering wheel is only very minimal, but it could get bad over time (keeping in mind i have been driving for 27 years perfectly fine, never had an accident) and that it could lead to me smashing against a wall. Shaken, I existed the car. When I wanted to open the back door to get my purse out, he locked the door and wouldn't let me take my property. He said "you haven't paid me yet!" that is all this man was thinking about. Money. After about a minute on the side of the road, he opened it and I took my purse, paid him and called my husband (I didn't know where I was) who was finally able to locate me and drive me home. If you have been bullied by this man, dont stay quiet.

Fantastic experience: Passed test today first time . Micheal is a very patient and straight up guy and very professional about his job . Only for him teaching me out of my bad habits and pointing me in the right direction each lesson I wouldn’t have passed first time . Really recommend

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Michael for anyone taking a driving test in Carrick. He was very informative, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure I passed my test. I had a foreign license that couldn't be converted so that meant I had to redo the entire license. I had a decade of bad habits to surpass, but he helped coach me to get where I needed be and gave me the best opportunity to pass the test (which I did!).
