Hynes Driving School

Fantastic experience: couldn't recommend hynes driving school enough for helping me pass my driving test. Antonette was extremely helpful from day one. extremely freindly and professional at doing her job. I would highly recommend hynes driving school for helping you pass you're driving test.

Negative experience: Don’t bother booking as it’s a waste of time and money. Receptionist is rude and does not try and accommodate you. She expects you to guess the times they have available for lessons. One of the male driving instructors had no interest in teaching you how to drive only interested in giving out to you. Antoinette is lovely and if I had the opportunity to finish my lessons with her I would have but like I said receptionist was no help at all when trying to book appointments. For the price you pay you’re best off booking somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I was en extremely nervous tester, I decided to book 3 pre test lessons with Mick and he was extremely helpful. I passed my test and was over the moon. I would recommend Hynes driving school to anyone.

Negative experience: I went in for my first lesson and first time driving on a main road. As soon as I sat into the car I was met with an instructor named Tony who was very rude throughout the 45 minutes lesson. Before I had even pulled out of the carpark he made a rude comment. Throughout the drive he raised his voice at me three times for mistakes. This was not constructive criticism, it was just rude behaviour. Finally, he asked me if I had ‘put my younger brother in the hospital a lot’ because of how I was driving the car. This level of unprofessionalism disgusted me, as I had seen how many positive reviews had been left before this event and went in with the intention of paying for all of my lessons in a bundle, and now I will not be returning to Hynes whatsoever. This was an unacceptable level of service and I hope it will be dealt with accordingly.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test yesterday with the help of driving instructor Tony. I couldn’t recommend him more, I’m so pleased I chose Hynes !

Fantastic experience: Passed my test today thanks to the amazing instruction I received from Martin and the team at Hynes. They are by far the best driving school I have ever took lessons with. Knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, and friendly. If you are looking to learn how to drive really well or are looking to brush up on areas for your test, trust me, you can't go wrong with these guys! Thank you for everything Hynes!

Fantastic experience: done my test in tullamore, passed my hgv test first time, thanks to all the team at hynes driving school. special thanks to my instructor Mick could not have passed with out him.

Positive experience: I used Hynes for my 12 EDT lessons in Tullamore. They have some great driving instructors such as Mick Galvin and a lady who's name I have forgotten, but they also have some dodgy instructors. I had a bad lesson with a driving instructor who simply would not stop interfering with the clutch and brake pedals on his side of the car. It isn't much of a learning experience if I am not allowed to drive the car and the instructor won't tell me what he is doing with the controls. Definitely a good driving school but be very picky with the instructor you are given. Don't be afraid to email them and ask for a different instructor for the next lesson. They have a strong track record with getting people passes on their test and they have automatic and manual cars so they are worth using for your lessons.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test in Mullingar, would not have got through it without my instructor Martin’s help! He was always so straight with what I needed to work on, but made the lessons very fun! Had a fear of being behind the wheel but after Martin became my instructor I overcame it with his teaching style! Thanks again Hynes!

Fantastic experience: As someone who thought driving was out of there capability Hynes instructor (Antoinette) gave me the believe and the skills to pass my driving test. Could not recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been driving a few months now and have been getting on well. I did my initial 12 lessons with Tony and he was great he was also great to get on with in the lessons. I booked two more lessons one a week before and one before my test and also the hour before my test with Tony and he massively helped to build my confidence for the test. I then passed my test first time and since have referred many of my friends who are also learners to go with him. If you are booking lessons go with Tony.

Negative experience: I done my rigid lorry lessons with Hynes and all of my lessons except 1 were with the old guy that was extremely ignorant and he must of thought he was a drill instructor and not a driving instructor. He never explained anything and just let me drive and then when I didn't do things properly he would get really angry and start shouting. It was so uncomfortable and every lesson I felt like I was the worst driver in the country. I must say the lady taking the bookings was very helpful and there was another guy there I did 1 lesson with and he was really helpful too and explained things well but my advice is if you do lessons with this company and you get the old guy just go somewhere else and don't waste your time and money because paying big money for abuse isn't worth it and you'll pass your test easily with someone else.

Fantastic experience: My Son, had his initial 12 lessons with another the school and I felt he was not competent enough, so I booked him with Hynes Driving school in Mullingar. What can I say, the difference in his driving ability was amazing after just one lesson! His driving instructor was the lovely Martin and he was just brilliant in helping my son get over his nervousness. He gave clear directions and he went through everything with my son. Didn't have issues going back over his areas of weakness and making sure he fully understood what he had to do to do. He was very much engaged in getting my son to pass his test. I would highly recommend Hynes and Martin for the driving lessons!

Negative experience: The instructor was nice, but if you want to pass your driving test I would suggest a different driving school. When I switched driving schools I realised how much useful information Hyne's never provided and was a waste of my money and time.

Fantastic experience: I was doing lessons with Martin and he was just brilliant he gave directions very clearly, had a lot of patience with me, went through everything that needed to be known and repeated it if I needed, he kept me calm and he always had a bubbly funny personality when I was doing lessons. I would highly recommend Martin for the driving lessons!
