Fantastic experience: Very experienced, very patient, very clear English, passionate to teach everything he knows, someone you should definitely get to know. The fact that he is also a musician was invaluable for me. I am very happy to know him.

Fantastic experience: I just completed the IBT course with Andy and I can't recommend him enough. The course is very well laid out, consisting in three days of training, first day theory and the other two days you're being trained 1 on 1 to drive the motorcycle at low speed in the parking lot and on the road at higher speed meeting every day traffic. Andy's number one priority is being safe but nonetheless he made sure you enjoy the process. I'm very happy that I choose this course, if I could give six stars I would.

Fantastic experience: I strongly recommend Skills Motorcycle Academy to anyone looking for an IBT course or an advanced riding course! I've just completed my IBT with Andy and it was a great experience! Even though I had previous riding experience I really benefited from the 3-day format in which the course is structured. It was also great to ride on the 2024 Harley Nightster 975 and the Triumph Speed 400 :) Day 1 (the theory day) is a good reminder of how to ride safely and also a great opportunity to buy some gear if you're missing any. The lesson takes place on a mezzanine of the HD store, which creates a casual and bike-focused atmosphere. There is absolutely zero pressure to buy anything, but since the gear is there, Andy explains different types of safety gear by showing you actual examples at the store, which is great. Day two is mostly compound, with some road riding if you're confident enough. Again, even though I had a few years of prior riding experience, I was rusty around the cones at first, so this was great practice. Day 3 is spent primarily on the road, with a bit of instruction before and in-between the riding. During day 2 and 3 you're 1:1 with the instructor who speaks to you over a one-way radio. This means the lessons are 100% tailored to your level and the difficulty progresses as your skills improve. I can't recommend Any enough!

Fantastic experience: I attended on 9/6/24 and I particularly liked the offset cone weave. This exercise allowed for full body and eye coordination use and a better degree of bike lean which I was probably reluctant to chance without this particular practice. Overall , the exercises fed into each other and even after doing the first exercise allowed a much better feel and confidence on the bike when doing the last exercise. The practice area is perfect for these exercises and the instructor Andy kept everything interesting and explained and demonstrated each set of exercises, full marks all around.

Fantastic experience: Today I completed my IBT with Andy. I could not be happier with the experience. I shopped around and wasn't sure where to start and I felt finding the right instructor was especially important to me when learning a new skill and especially when taking on something so daunting. Andy put me at ease straight away, he was patient, understanding and considerate of my particular needs, helping me to learn how to be safe and confident as a rider when I can hardly even reach the ground on a bike. If you have been putting off starting, this is the time and the man to change that. His knowledge and skills are incredible and his passion makes him a truly fabulous instructor. I can't wait to continue practicing the skills he gave me and I look forward to returning when I am ready to take my full test as I know Andy will get me there. Fantastic experience: I had a pre-test lesson with Andy, and also loaned a bike from him for my test (as my bike was below the kW threshold). He's a very skilled, confidence-building teacher. Thoroughly dedicated and accommodating expert in motorcycle training, very focused feedback. He looked after everything at short notice, and most important, it was a successful test result!

Fantastic experience: Thank You Andy and team for a super Handling Course No.1. Lots of things to take away and practice. Arrived early. Watching you set up, I said to myself " Not a hope in Hell could I turn in those small circles". Sure enough we took baby steps forward and achieved it. With each exercise we progressed and achieved all targets, but nothing got easier..!! That's because each skill was different challenge. Fantastic experience: Did my IBT with Andy and he was great. He splits the 18hours into three six hour sessions (as opposed to the two eight hour session most other schools offer) which is MUCH better, as it made the sessions more manageable for a new rider and gave me plenty of time to process between the sessions. When it came to riding practice he gave all the necessary context, and was patient and helpful to progressively build up rider confidence. I can't recommend Andy highly enough, and will surely be taking further lessons down the line.

Fantastic experience: The Cornering with Confidence course is very worthwhile. With Andy I learnt new skills and the approach demonstrated to take corners has helped me improve my road positioning and speed through corners. I have a much better awareness of how to take in and use information to improve my handling of my motorcycle. I highly recommend this course with Andy. It will make you a better rider.

Fantastic experience: If you are like me, a novice, biting off more than he can chew and going to buy a Harley Davidson for your first bike... I cannot recommend Andy from Skills Motorcycle Academy enough. This incredibly responsible, skilled and knowledgeable instructor is second to none. He managed to turn a complete newbie who'd never ridden more than 15kph in a car park, to a capable learner who got up to 80kph on a public road in a few hours of being instructed by Andy. Not only that, also made me confident enough that I brought home my new-to-me Harley Davidson home in wet conditions. His way of explaining things, breaking things down and clear instructions while out on the road were super helpful and he's a nice chap to boot! If you're thinking of learning to ride a motorcycle and need a calm voice to guide you through all the nerves and uncertainty in your head while you get to grips with it... you'll find no one better than Andy from Skills Motorcycle Academy.

Fantastic experience: Just completed my IBT course with Andy an ADI instructor. Throughly enjoyed my three days comprehensive motorbike training covering all modules including loads of practical motorbike road handling skills. I recommend doing this course at Harley Davidson in Dublin, where you can shop in store or online , book and test drive a Harley or triumph and talk to experienced staff & ADI trainers.

Fantastic experience: Did my module 5 with Andy over the weekend. Having done the IBT on two occasions before for various reasons - this was a step above the rest. Cannot put a value on the one to one training offered. You have Andy’s undivided attention and this allows for more detailed, easy to understand and implement advice. Fantastic experience: I'm very happy with the training I received at Skills Motorcycle Academy. I did my IBT training with Andy, who is a gent. He was able to arrange the training on days that suited me. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and most importantly, patient! Fantastic experience: I completed the Advance Handling Course level 1 last May. Luckily for us, the weather was perfect. I had an idea of what to expect and kind of thought that I would be okay but until I actual done it, I realised that I have a lot of more practice to do. The whole day was very well run and Andy was very professional. This guy knows exactly how to deliver an advance course. He was able to everyone feel at ease and although seven other bikers, I felt that I was getting one-to-one personal training. He also followed up with some very useful tips and guides. Excellent day out and I learned a lot. I am thinking of doing the Level 2 course but I need to put in the practice first or may just repeat this one again.

The course was worth every penny and exceeded my expectations in every way. Fantastic experience: Great place to be. Andy and his assistants were very experienced and helpful. I had a fantastic day, learned few new techniques for controlling my bike. Hot tea, refreshments and a bit of a banter is a part of a session. 4 hours flew by. At the end of the course the certificate of participation was provided. Andy also kindly sent an individual feedback on my riding ability and gave me few advices. I would highly recommend skills motorcycle academy to any biker to gain confidence and improve slow riding skills.

Fantastic experience: The best training in dublin. I got the classes after a long waiting because Andy was fully packed but I would say that is worth it. He will go through each and every points clearly . First day I forgot to bring my PPE he even helped me with his PPE . He will make sure of safety and he is a skilled person.

Fantastic experience: This was the first Skills event I had attended and it won't be the last! I found the instructions very good and informative and showed me the simple items and techniques i need to improve my riding skills. Fantastic experience: I have been riding bikes for the last 15 years or so and have keen interested in advanced riding skills so have done a few training courses to date, in particular I realize the importance of slow riding skills with just the simple U turn sometimes being a challenge. I did an Advanced handling course recently with Skills Motorcycle Academy and it has made such a difference to my riding already. The morning session covered basic slow riding techniques that were also explained and demonstrated before having the opportunity to try them out on my own bike in a safe and well planed area. When we got to some of the more advanced riding in the afternoon I was genuinely surprised that I could manage to turn in such a tight space with confidence and complete the other exercises on the day I am absolutely delighted I did the course and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their riding skills Thanks Andy and the Team, A well deserved 5 stars from me

Fantastic experience: Andy did God's work helping me successfully complete my Driving test. He helped iron out a number of bad habits I picked up over the years and replace them with a more methodical approach to driving. His teaching delivery and bespoke knowledge of the routes/area made me go into the test feeling prepared and confident. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: Just completed my IBT with skills motorcycle academy. An amazing experience and my instructor Andy Maslen was truly fantastic. Andy has a great approach to riding and he emphasizes how the use of a good road strategy can make a better and safer rider. Andy makes the skills look effortless with the proper use of head and eye placement these skills can be performed on even the biggest of bikes. He also does advanced rider training. Fantastic experience: As a reasonably experienced motorcyclist, I was more than impressed by this course and the manner in which it was delivered. The skills taught are really basic but ones most motorcyclists probably don't know and certainly don't practice regularly....yet vitally important for the safe handling of your motorcycle.I would highly recommend everyone to take this well taught and very well explained course which, with regular practice will make you a safer, better rider. Fantastic experience: Having completed the advanced Handling course, on 3rd October, which was presented in a both professional and friendly manner, each exercise being explained verbally and then demonstrated by example, by Andy himself. This was followed up by an email highlighting exercises to continue practising the skills learnt, discussing the personal conversations, and my personal high and low skill points as seen on the day, I have no hesitation in recommending this course to anyone who has ever worried about that slow speed manoeuvre. As Andy explained, and I can confirm, a set of skills that do get rusty over time if not used. Thanks to Andy and his team, to all the other guys and gals on the course, for pointing my confidence in a positive direction again. A cracking day out.
