Booking lessons was simple, and the team on the phone was always helpful and easy to deal with. A huge shoutout to my instructor, Danny Reid – he’s absolutely brilliant! Danny is so patient and explains everything really clearly. I used to feel nervous about driving, but he helped me build confidence and actually enjoy it. He also shared some great tips and tricks that make driving feel much easier and more natural. I’m so happy I ended up with Danny as my instructor. If you’re thinking of learning to drive, I’d definitely recommend both Aviva and Danny.

Fantastic experience: I completed my 12 EDT with my great instructor Nick Brennan in Wexford town. I passed my test on the first time due to Nick’s guidance and instruction during lessons. He was always a calming presence in the car which I found really beneficial. I would really recommend doing your lessons with Aviva and especially Nick Brennan if you’re looking for an instructor around the Wexford area.

Fantastic experience: I bought the Aviva 6 months of insurance and 12 lessons package. Unreal deal! I had my lessons with Danny Reid and it was such a smooth and enjoyable experience! By the end of my lessons I feel like a comfortable and competent driver and I can't wait for my test. I can't believe the transformation - just 2 years ago I swore I'd never drive and it's now one of my favourite activities. Danny always talked through everything in depth before getting me to try it, with visual examples with magnetic cars on different types of road layouts and even physical mock ups to explain the clutch and how to correctly steer for example. I always felt really safe in the car, while gaining the necessary experience with new manoeuvres and roads. Danny set weekly bits to watch and read in bite sized chunks so I was learning the theory and not just in practice. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I'll be recommending Aviva to everyone. And if needed, I'll definitely be booking additional lessons before my test.

Fantastic experience: Paul Keating, based in Dublin, was an amazing driving instructor! He was calm, patient, and explained everything so clearly. Having had other instructors before, I can confidently say Paul was far superior and much more helpful. He also made small talk during lessons, which made the experience a lot more friendly, calming and comfortable. His encouragement and tailored lessons gave me the confidence to pass my test on the first try. I highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive!

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of having Danny Reid as my Driving instructor for my EDT lessons in aviva driving school.I had a great time completing my lessons with Danny as he was a wonderful instructor who gave the best experience out of learning to drive from his excellent diagrams which helped me to better visualise manoeuvres and other techniques and really focused on the importance and safety of driving a car. Asides from that Danny himself is also a lovely person who always made me feel comfortable learning to drive which can be a stressful time for some people and I can’t thank him enough for making my driving lessons such a positive experience

Fantastic experience: Great driving school. My instructor was Eamon in Mullingar, the day of my pretest lesson he sorted an issue I was having that would have failed me. All his instructions were clear and easy to understand.

He’s such a friendly and down to earth person, and he made me feel completely at ease during every lesson. His advice was clear and practical, and he really helped build my confidence . Fantastic experience: With the help of Gerry Kelly in Mullingar, I passed my driving test first try with flying colours. I did my 6 additional lessons with Gerry and he is an fantastic instructor, is always calm and encouraging, easy to talk to, and very thorough in making sure I was test-ready. Couldn't recommend him enough! Thank you Gerry! I also did my first 12 lessons with Gillian Maguire in Churchtown, Co. Dublin. Gillian is an amazing instructor and made sure I hit the ground running when I first started driving. It can be difficult to get comfortable driving around Dublin City but she made sure of it and really helped me. Again, couldn't recommend her enough either! Thanks, Gillian!!

Fantastic experience: I had Chris Rees as my instructor, in castlebar, mayo. He was a great instructor and gave me very valuable information leading to me pass my test first time.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had Nick Brennan for driving lessons in Wexford and he is an excellent instructor, calm, patient and totally obliging. He explains everything clearly and simply and his kind nature put her at ease from the start. The Aviva driving package is a great way to get started by making lessons and insurance affordable. I would totally recommend both Nick and Aviva to anyone beginning their driving journey

Fantastic experience: I completed my 12 EDT lessons followed by 6 pre test lessons (achieve package) with Pat Kehoe based in Dun Laoighre. He was an excellent instructor who always remained calm and patient throughout our lessons. He was very thorough when explaining new concepts and was very useful at helping me to understand them, both with explanation and visual learning aids. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my lessons as Pat made me feel at ease and calmed my nerves. I passed my driving test first time and I couldn’t have done it without Pat’s help. He is a very good instructor and also a lovely person with a calming mannerism which makes him great at his job. He was very easy to get in contact with if needed. I couldn’t recommend him enough! Aviva also made the whole process of lessons and insurance very easy.

He was extremely patient and really built her confidence up while completing the driving lessons. He is extremely professional and is definitely the reason she passed her test 1st time. Fantastic experience: I have successfully completed my driving test on first attempt in Wexford town. Thanks to Nick Brennan who I had an additional 6 lessons with after my EDT. And Chris Obrien who I completed my EDT with. They were both very calm through out the lessons and good at giving feedback. And then end of each lesson both Nick and Chris would give me a few pointers to work on for the week ahead. Without a doubt I would recommend them both highly.

Danny put a strong emphasis on the responsibility that comes with driving a car, and the importance of driving safely. He is also a lovely character, who made each lesson something to look forward to as opposed to be nervous for. He is well able to have a laugh while also remaining professional while teaching. I have since passed my driving test and wouldn’t have been able to do so without the help from Danny. I cannot recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: Based in Bray, I had Phillip Nolan as instructor and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for lessons in the Bray area. He is brilliant and led me to passing my test first try, 2 months after beginning to drive.

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor was David Donohue, and was very helpful all during my lessons right up until my test where I passed. He gave me tips on how to drive and suggested videos to watch to further my driving better, and all of these tips were really helpful and gave me more confidence in driving.

Negative experience: One of the worst driving schools. They don’t have the decency to accommodate students for lessons, you also have to go out of your way to meet them at a certain location which is insane considering you spend nearly 550+ on the lessons in the first place. Some of the instructors don’t have the decent to also reply to your messages and are still owed a driving lesson. If booking lessons with this company read the fine print please. Wouldn’t recommend

Fantastic experience: Based in Wexford Town, I had Nick Brennan as my instructor while I was learning to drive. He is a great instructor with so much patience and understanding. I was very nervous at the beginning to go on the roads but with his guidance I became very confident and couldn't wait to sit my test. The Aviva package of lessons and insurance is really accessible and a great way to make sure you're practicing driving in between lessons. Couldn't recommend Nick enough. I always felt very safe and calm while learning with him.

Fantastic experience: Danny Reid is a fantastic instructor - he is really patient and knowledgeable, and he uses different styles of learning during your driving lessons so the theory behind certain manoeuvres and techniques make much more sense. As a visual learner, Danny’s use of diagrams in particular made a world of difference to my learning, as did the videos and articles that he suggested reading and watching to complement each lesson. I have just finished my EDT lessons today, and I’m delighted with my progress as I went from constantly cutting out and stalling to driving with confidence after doing my lessons with Danny. I would really highly recommend Aviva (and Danny in particular) to anybody who wants to learn to drive.

Fantastic experience: We booked Aviva Driving School for our son. He did his lessons with David in Ashbourne and had a teriffic learning experience. David was great instructor, he is very friendly and patient. Our son's confidence improved with each lesson and he was very well prepared for his test which he passed 1st time. Thanks too to Conor in Navan for his guidance on pre-test lessons. The free driver accompanied insurance is a great feature of the lessons.

Fantastic experience: I did my EDT driving lessons with Danny Reid. He is a brilliant mentor and has wonderful insights and tips which are beneficial for safe and efficient driving. He gives clear instructions which allows a learner driver to focus purely on the task at hand without wondering what they should be doing. He is excellent at remaining calm and composed while giving instructions or making suggestions, which is very helpful and avoids putting stress on the learner driver. On top of this, he is a lovely guy and has a good sense of humour which is always a positive. I highly recommend doing your driving lessons with Danny!

Fantastic experience: As an adult learner (40s), I highly recommend Gerry Kelly of Aviva Driving School in Mullingar (Co. Westmeath) for an instructor. I work in higher education and have an eye for what makes a good instructor/teacher, and found his approach very effective. He reinforces what you do right, corrects errors in a reassuring manner, and helps you build your competancy in a structured manner. You know where you stand, where you need to go, and how to get there. I have no doubt his approach and reassuring manner would be effective for learners of any age. I took my test in Mullingar, and he not only familiarised me with all the test routes, but helped me understand how to apply the learning from driving them to other roads. I left the test centre (having passed), with only minor feedback points for correction. If you take your lessons with Gerry, you'll be in a good position to do likewise.

Negative experience: This review is only for the Naas branch of Aviva Driving School. If you ever get assigned an instructor named B**an, streer clear off him. This man was so rude and intimidating that I lost all the confidence I had in driving and I kept putting off taking my test. I do acknowledge I am not great at driving, but no one wants to be screamed, yelled and shouted at while learning and behind the wheels. I couldn't wait for the lessons to be over so I could never see this man again. The lessons I took with him led to a trauma that I kept delaying my actual driving test indefinitely and I wasted close to 2 years until I gained confidence again to sit the test and cleared it. It's amazing how one person's behaviour could absolutely bring down your self belief and self confidence. People like him shouldn't be in the teaching job!

Fantastic experience: I did lessons and pre-test lessons with Philip Nolan in Greystones and Wicklow. Philip was a great teacher and helped me to build my confidence when driving. I passed my test first time and felt prepared and confident going into it. I’d highly recommend Philip as a driving instructor.

My aviva driving instructor was absolutely amazing he was always very calm and extremely understanding. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of being taught by Clem in Ennis, and i just passed my test today. it was amazing being his student and I’ll certainly miss being his student and all his tips that helped me along the way!

Negative experience: Had an absolutely horrible experience here with Tom from Sligo waited 5 weeks for my first lesson then cancelled both mine my boyfriends and friends lessons constantly ,lied about reasoning to cancel ,cancelling lessons with less than 10 hours notice , yet when we give less than 48 hours notice we loose our lesson and money… not rescheduling and being seen driving with others when being told his mother had passed away the company itself didn’t help come to a resolve,got a refund in the end and right beck to where i started having to find a new instructor and wait another 5 weeks do not recommend Tom from Aviva in Sligo at all for your own sake.

Fantastic experience: I'm delighted to have passed my test first time today with Dave Donohue in Loughrea. I got the pack of 12 lessons and the whole experience was great from start to finish. Dave is an excellent instructor, he is friendly and patient and has a very calm way of teaching that works on improving your weaker areas with different driving scenarios and always reinforces the skills needed to be a safe and confident driver. I was very glad to have had him as my instructor, I highly recommend him .

Fantastic experience: I passed first time in Loughrea with David Donohue as my instructor. He's a good driving instructor giving clear and concise tips helping you through all the pitfalls while learning how to drive. He was well informed as after passing the test he asks other drivers including me about the up to date questions that are being asked in the test to help future drivers. He also asks about where you fell down on in the practical which was helpful for common mistakes to watch out for. All in all I'd totally reccomend.

Fantastic experience: Marie Hove from Aviva has been an incredible driving instructor and a really good friend! Her patience and encouragement helped me pass my road test with ease. She knows the Tallaght driving routes and the new pedestrian crossings and signs like the back of her hand, which was a huge advantage. Greg's teaching style is highly informative and patient, which made a huge difference in my learning process. Fantastic experience: i had a very positive experience learning to drive with aviva. i had done 12 lessons previously but was still extremely nervous. my instructor Aidan was great and brought me around malahide, swords and balbriggan. i gained so much confidence with Aidan and passed my test today! i would recommend Aidan to everyone!

Fantastic experience: My driving experience with Aviva was fantastic. I completed my 12 lessons, and then also 6 additional lessons/mock tests, with David in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, before passing my test first time in Mulhuddart Test Centre. I was quite apprehensive and nervous at first when it came to driving, but with the help, constant encouragement and feedback from David, I was able to exceed my own expectations. David always greeted me in a positive, and personable manner, and took the time to actually get to know me, which made learning from him an enjoyable and relaxing experience. He always picked me up on areas to work on and helped me to remedy them, with solutions and tips. Credit where credit is due, an excellent driving school and an even better instructor.
