Laurel Driving School

An instructor who builds genuine confidence

Laurel Driving School distinguishes itself through the exceptional personal approach of its instructor, George. Reviews consistently highlight his ability to transform anxious, first-time learners and frustrated drivers into confident, test-ready candidates. He is widely praised for his calm demeanor, which helps dispel the "irrational fear" many nervous students feel before their exam. Whether dealing with long-standing bad habits or fresh learning curves, George creates a supportive environment where students feel safe making mistakes and learning from them, ultimately allowing them to thrive in high-pressure situations.

Expertise in EDT courses and skill refinement

As a fully qualified ADI approved driving instructor, George adheres to the mandatory 12 EDT (Essential Driver Training) lessons set by the RSA. His methodology goes beyond simple instruction; he explains the "why" behind every rule and maneuver, ensuring students understand the logic rather than just memorizing steps. The school is particularly effective for students who have completed their EDT elsewhere but failed their test, as George specializes in identifying specific weak areas and providing targeted solutions. For those eligible under RSA guidelines, reduced EDT courses of 6 lessons are also available to accelerate the path to the driving test.

• Full 12-point EDT course for beginners
• Reduced 6-point EDT course for eligible students
• Targeted refinement lessons for those who have already tested
• Comprehensive notes and video aids for study between lessons

Flexibility with Manuals and Automatics

One of the school's most appreciated features is its flexibility regarding vehicle transmission. Laurel Driving School offers both manual and automatic lessons, allowing students to try both before committing. This is particularly beneficial for those considering the switch from manual to automatic after their license, or for those who find modern car technology challenging. George adapts his teaching style to the chosen vehicle type, ensuring that the training is relevant to the car the student intends to drive or buy in the future.

Availability, Fair Pricing, and Value

Students frequently mention George’s accessibility and willingness to go above and beyond. He is described as easy to reach via phone, text, and WhatsApp, often providing urgent advice for test anxiety or car issues just before an exam. Despite this high level of personalized support, the service is noted for being cost-friendly, with many students recommending it as "worth every penny." The combination of professional expertise, flexible scheduling, and reasonable rates makes Laurel Driving School a top choice for both nervous beginners and experienced drivers looking to refresh their skills.
