ADS School of Motoring

ADS School of Motoring, led by instructor Dave, has established itself as a premier destination for motorcycle training in Ireland. Distinguished by over 30 years of experience in both car and motorcycle driving, Dave combines deep industry knowledge with an RSA-approved teaching methodology. His approach is widely praised for balancing professional rigour with a supportive, personable demeanor, ensuring that students of all skill levels, from complete novices to riders returning after long breaks, feel confident and safe from day one.

RSA-Approved IBT and Structured Learning

The core of ADS’s offering is the Initial Basic Training (IBT) course, an RSA-approved programme designed to build a solid foundation for motorcycle riding. Reviews consistently highlight Dave’s ability to break down complex riding mechanics into clear, manageable instructions. Whether training on smaller 125cc bikes for beginners or larger 600cc models, the curriculum is tailored to the individual’s pace. Students frequently mention the well-structured practical exercises conducted in controlled environments before progressing to public roads, which fosters competence and reduces initial anxiety.

High Pass Rates and Specialized Test Preparation

One of the most significant advantages of choosing ADS is the exceptional first-time pass rate for the full Category A test. Many students return for pre-test preparation after completing their IBT, leveraging Dave’s extensive knowledge of test routes and examiner expectations. His training style is described as "firm but fair," providing critical feedback that corrects bad habits and simulates the pressure of the actual exam. This realistic approach ensures that students are not just learning to pass a test, but are developing the observation skills and hazard perception necessary for lifelong safe riding.

• Comprehensive IBT courses tailored to individual learning speeds.
• Specialized pre-test lessons focusing on exam routes and maneuvers.
• High-quality bikes and protective gear provided for all training sessions.
• Expert guidance on traffic positioning and advanced hazard awareness.

Supportive Atmosphere and Professional Guidance

Beyond the technical skills, ADS is renowned for its positive and encouraging teaching environment. Instructors are noted for their patience, humor, and willingness to answer every question, making the learning process enjoyable and stress-free. This strong rapport helps students overcome nervousness, particularly those with previous negative experiences or long gaps in riding history. The school’s commitment to safety, combined with Dave’s reputation as a gentleman and a mentor, has created a loyal community of riders who frequently recommend ADS to friends and family for their motorcycle training needs.
