Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about RSA Driving Test Centre - Raheny:
RSA Driving Test Centre in Raheny is a location that offers a varied experience for test-takers. Many users have expressed their appreciation for the professionalism of several examiners, particularly highlighting the excellent support provided by Joanne, Paul, and Brian, who have made the testing experience less intimidating and often provided clear and constructive feedback.
Overall, the centre is noted for:
- Clean and well-equipped facilities with waiting areas.
- Friendly and polite staff that help to ease nerves.
- Professional examiners who prioritize safety and clear communication.
However, some reviews highlight serious concerns with a few examiners, particularly Sandra, who has received multiple negative comments regarding her demeanor and marking practices. Complaints include:
- Rude and unprofessional behavior during tests.
- Inconsistent marking that leaves candidates feeling unfairly treated.
- A perception of bias against foreign applicants.
While many users have passed their tests successfully, the mixed experiences suggest potential candidates should prepare thoroughly and remain adaptable to the various examiners they may encounter at this centre.
RSA Driving Test Centre - Raheny: Reviews
Fantastic experience: As a holder of a foreign license, I was a little unsure about what to expect from this test center, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was no excessive waiting times and the tester Sandra was polite and professional. There were no trick questions or unusual maneuvers requested during the driving portion. I was told if something was unclear, please tell them so they can clarify it. If you've done mock testing before the exam (you should), and studied your rules of the road and signs, there should be no surprises here.
Fantastic experience: Got it from the second attempt. Both times testers were professional, motivated and open to help. I know it’s frustrating because of the wait times, but staff is really professional.
Fantastic experience: Huge thank you to Joanne, she was such a kind tester and really put me at ease. The exact right person to be doing this job!
Negative experience: Never do you test in Raheny.
Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test on the first try at this center, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Brian, my examiner. He was fantastic! Right from the start, he helped calm my nerves and made the whole experience a lot less intimidating. He was clear, patient, and really put me at ease, which made all the difference. Thanks, Brian!
Fantastic experience: Passed my test today with Paul as my tester what an earth angel, such a lovely man couldn’t of asked for a nicer tester calmed my nerves completely
Negative experience: No sort of communication or feedback after failing. Would not be an issue as long as a verbal discussion would have happened on why I failed. Avoid
Fantastic experience: I passed my test today with Paul - he was very nice and polite, he made me feel safe and confident on the road. His instructions were clear, everything went smooth from the questions at the test centre to the driving. Paul also thoroughly explained to me all the mistakes, which was very helpful. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Had Paul as a tester, he was so lovely and reassuring. Enjoyable experience for a test!
Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test on 1st attempt here this week. My tester was Paul, who was very nice, calm and understanding about nerves and anxiety. I was familliar with most of the routes as I practiced them before. I was nervous about reversing around the corner but the place was calm and it went very well. I would recommend choosing the test time in the morning as I did, because the streets are rather quiet. Paul was amazing and gave really useful feedback.
Positive experience: I see a lot of negative reviews about Sandra here, but I must say she was friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable throughout the test. I failed for a grade 3 but that was my fault, she also gave me some really good tips after my test review. I'll be more than happy to redo my test with her.
Fantastic experience: Passed my test first time my tester was Paul and Paul made me less nervous and it was great relief Paul was very fair and understanding
Negative experience: Avoid this center, if possible. My test was not conducted in professional manner. From the get go, the tester asked me more than 20 theory questions in abrupt and rude manner. Upon entering the car, the tester insisted that I keep the windows half open despite pouring rain (apparently, the only agency/place where COVID-19 rules are still being enforced). Throughout the driving on test route, the tester kept nodding her head in disbelief, as if I had made a major error while following their instructions. At one instance, the tester also applied the breaks from their side for no apparent safety reasons. Rather than trying to conduct the test in neutral environment, the tester kept pressuring by such gestures. At the end of the test, I was surprised to see that I was marked on things that I performed properly during the test (20+ Grade 2 marks for a 30 minute drive) and was marked a Grade 3 although I had stopeed at a stop sign on round about. Despite trying to discuss what went wrong, the tester thought that I was arguing and denied having any further discussion. I raised a complaint on RSA portal, only to understand that the resolution is one-sided as the agency only speaks with the tester and trusts everything they say to be true. In summary, AVOID THIS CENTER and don't bother raising any complain on RSA portal as it is useless.
Fantastic experience: Just passed my test today . Thanks Joanne . Made me relax from the moment the door opened. You've no idea how much this means to me
Fantastic experience: Thank you Paul I passed my driving test today...I highly recommend him,he is professional, kind, keeps you calm as y'all know this test is nerve racking...stay blessed
Fantastic experience: Clean Test Centre, Nice People, space to sit and wait.
Fantastic experience: I passed my test in Raheny this morning with Paul. He is an absolute gem and a credit to this test centre would highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Passed my driving test at Raheny today. My tester was Dennis and he was very professional and pleasant and didn't make me feel nervous and helped me with directions if we were on an unfamiliar road. Overall a good experience.
Fantastic experience: I had Test with Sandra, She was super nice and great behave. I pass the test. At the end she has given me more guidance for safe driving. Thanks
Negative experience: My examiner was a short fat women, I think her name was Sandra. She was rude and unfriendly to me for no reason. She made me fail the test at the very end by making me do unnecessary turns. She appeared unhappy with her life and is trying to punish me for it. So do not go to Raheny test centre because she will make you fail it on purpose. She acted like she was forced to become driving examiner. If you do not like your job quite and find another job.
Negative experience: I waited over a year to have the test and felt rushed from the very beginning. I practiced Raheny routes with my instructor and was taken somewhere else I think Killester area, not sure but not any of the routes practiced with my instructor. I was asked to do the reverse around the corner on a corner that had the wide red brick speed bump which I feel was not fair because it reduces your ability to see the edge of the curb in the mirror when going over the speed bump and it makes the car harder to position along the curve of the curb. I was asked to go right on an intersection and told to follow a car that had already disappeared out of my sight because I was busy doing my observations and so I took the right turn and then was told thats not the correct one and pointed to the road that was ahead of the turning box, examiner could of just said go ahead to the nearest road to the right. At the very end of the test I was taken to an estate across the road of test centre that has a very narrow road and was asked to park up on the left so I parked up on the left behind two parked cars then was asked if I am ok with parking there, naturally I said yes then the examiner said I can't park here because it's opposite another parked car, and I got confused and she said to go and find another parking spot and none were available, I had to drive around the corner until there was one. I would of never expected the examiner to ask you to park up on the left knowing that there are no legal places available to be fair she did ask me if I was ok to park there but I was caught off guard, tired and stressed and it being the very end of the test. All in all I feel that it was a bit of a setup to fail and book again for them to make more money. I would have passed my test if I was asked to park up at the normal place across the green like everyone else as I had passing marks. The examiner Sandra was not friendly either but rude. I won't be booking with Raheny exam centre again I should have listened to the reviews. I feel that I was not given a fair chance by being brought to a different area, asked to do the reverse around the corner on the big wide speed bump and asked to park up in an illegal space. I also heard that some of the examiners ask you to turn next available right coming up to a no entry road where loads of people failed by turning in right. Perfectly within the rules to do the above but dishonest at the same time as their intentions are not entirely to assess your driving, feels like they want you to fail. I know full well that if I take my test again in Raheny they will fail me again and again for different things each time, the reviews speak for themselves. I am seriously considering taking my test in another European country that has no excessively long waiting times and then excessive tests you can't pass without failing 4 or 5 times, you would save yourself time, money and heartache. My dad ended up doing that got the licence in Romania and then converted it to an Irish one when arriving back in Ireland.
Positive experience: I passed my test on Friday with Sandra, who was polite, pleasant, and professional. I wasn't asked anything I didn't expect. The theory and road signes don't change on test day. If you can demonstrate while driving that you are capable of driving safely and legally you will pass your test. It has little to do with the tester, the test centre the day of the week or any other rubbish you read on line. You don't want to meet me on the road if I only ,"Think" I know what I'm doing and I definitely don't want to meet you.
Negative experience: Examiner was rude and spoke over me while doing the theory part of the test, marked me for multiple things that I did not do, and picked a flat corner for my reverse around the bend and when asked to roll the window down while I was doing the reverse around the bend he rolled it up mid way through the manoeuvre which affected my vision due to rain
Negative experience: Sandra Barry is an absolute disgrace as a tester. My cousin had her recently and had an awful experience with her. From the moment my cousin walked into the test centre this woman was very abrupt and rude to her.she didn't make my cousin feel any way comfortable. My cousin is a very good driver , and their instructor said they were very competent and would have a very high chance of passing. Sandra didnt give very clear instructions and not enough time to let my cousin know which direction she wanted to go. She should not be allowed to continue as a tester until the RSA looks into the reviews about her. No organisation should be a law unto themselves. They must be accountable for their actions. If anyone brings them to court over this they will never get their full license over complaining. So this will continue unless people keep naming and shaming Sandra Barry. RSA do the right thing and investigate this tester and the amount of people she is failing.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely impressed with Raheny Driving Test Centre, especially Joanne. She is a true professional, excelling in her role, and incredibly encouraging towards test-takers. A top-notch examiner who makes the experience positive and supportive. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Recommended test centre. Very nice tester and facilities.
Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test today in Rehenny. My tester name is Paul. I cannot imagine, i was very nervous. But he was so gentle and calm. Thats help me to overcome my fear. Its means a lots. Paul is Best! Thank you and Merry Christmas
Negative experience: This is not an objective test, the testers will fail you if they're in a bad mood so its not based on the drivers abilities.
Fantastic experience: Second time here and passed the staff are very nice and professional had Sandera she was very helpful welcoming felt very comfortable with her tough but fair couldn’t be happier
Fantastic experience: I passed my test with Paul yesterday what such a nice man he had put me at such ease and I felt so comfortable to just relax and try my best to try not to overthink everything.
Fantastic experience: My tester Joanne was very professional and put me at ease straight away with her calm and polite manner. She was very clear in her communications and also gave me constructive feedback on my faults.
Fantastic experience: Had my test here with Joanne in the morning. She is a unique tester, who calmed and relaxed me more than expected.Such a woman with smooth and professional attitute along my test.Appreciated her! We have to have this type of tester for everyone.Wish you best of luck lads! Cheers!
Negative experience: Asked questions about signs that are not in their training manual. Felt very tricked. Not good at all.
Fantastic experience: I have very good experience in Raheny on my first attempt I got my license. My examiner(Joanne) very good and well behaved.
Fantastic experience: Passed first time today. Joanne is an absolute gem. Felt completely at ease with her as my tester. Chatted away, clear with instructions and really really patient. Just a really lovely woman and couldn't have made my experience any better.
Negative experience: Tester Sandra Barry still works here, you've a one in three chance of getting her if you pick Raheny as your test centre so please choose somewhere else. The second my instructor saw her he told me she was a miserable lump of a woman. Of course I ended up with her as my examiner on the day of the test. Rushed my theory questions like it was some sort of race, scowled at me throughout the whole test, chose the most narrow road I've ever seen for me to do my turnabout on, ask me to turn left, right, left, right, every three seconds, don't think I drove on a straight piece of road for more than a minute of my test. Made me take an extremely sharp left onto a main road and acted as if I was driving off a cliff when my turn wasn't as tight as it could have been. Failed me with a slew of grade 2 marks, no grade 1 or grade 3s. She saw I was stressed before the test, didn't say a single thing to ease my nerves and went out of her way to make sure my stress levels were the highest they could have been on the day.
Positive experience: I passed my test the second time with Sandra as my tester. I think she was very fair and reasonable with her marking, even though I was convinced I had failed. The test was calm and she explained everything clearly to me and was very pleasant towards me. Don't fall to pieces if you think you have failed - you might be surprised at the end.
Fantastic experience: I passed today in Raheny. My instructor was Sandra ,Extremely professional and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Passed first time! Staff are so nice! I was a bag of nerves in the waiting room and a lovely member of staff let me know I had a few minutes to spare before been called and encouraged me to grab a coffee/ bottle of water in the shop which helped me a lot. My examiner was lovely! Even his tone when giving directions was just so nice and calming. I felt he was genuinely delighted to say I passed. He gave good feedback at the end of the test too. I was very familiar with the routes as I did all my lessons around the area with Paul from In Gear who I can’t recommend enough.
Fantastic experience: I passed today in Raheny on my 4th attempt. I’m quite a nervous driver and usually fall to pieces on the day of the test. This time I had a tester named Joanne, I cannot compliment her more. She was patient, understanding and just overall amazing. She didn’t make it feel high pressure at all. Overall amazing experience because of Joanne and she is a credit to this centre.
Fantastic experience: Although I was so nervous, Sandra the examiner she was so cool. I must thank her for that. She calmed me down with her attitude. Failed a couple of times in Killester just to pass first time in Raheny. Brilliant, 5 stars ⭐️
Fantastic experience: I had my driving test yesterday, my instructor was Sandra and I honestly can’t thank her enough, as most of us here, before the test I have been reading all of this negative comments about how all of Raheny instructors are rude and racist. Well I am not Irish and I went there super nervous and i wasn’t perfect either and in my opinion Sandra was super calm understanding and knows her job well . I passed my test. And I would definitely don’t pay attention to negative reviews. Best of luck everyone.
Negative experience: Not all a good experience. Totally disappointed with the both Raheny and Killester test centres. Each time different testers with contradictory opinions for similar scenarios. Firmly believe that I was not treated fairly by the testers. Examples In Killester, a Grade 3 citing I did not look at the mirror when I did look. Grade 2 for yielding to oncoming traffic, when there were parked cars (bank opposite to each other)on either sides of the road for a 100 meter stretch. I had proceeded they would not be even 30 cm gap between each of the 4 cars. In fact testers in Raheny had marked me down for proceeding even with a single parked car on a much wider road section. And that was exactly the reason why I yielded/ stopped at the first place. Say for example one tester who was a lady told me that you have too much observations at junctions, you should not peep and creep, you should only use ‘peripheral vision’. Giving instructions too late to confuse you, like for example to turn to a one way street (where the sign boards are not properly visible and the road markings was not visible due to leaves on the road during the fall). It is as if the testers are picking on certain people and group of people. I am not saying that I am perfect, but the mistakes these tester mark me down for are not the same ones as all the instructors I do lessons with point out for me. Consistently I am getting marked down for random things which the testers themselves have contradictory opinion on. They will just impose their opinion on you and put it down you throat, and they do not like it when you ask questions or and point out why you did a particular action. I do not have proof and the only way you could prove anything is by simultaneously video recording with Audio the whole test both inside the car and outside car. I do not think that it is possible. I have spent a fortune getting lessons. I am not rich enough to buy a car and pay for insurance. I am a person who is environmental conscious and wants to use public transport. The only reason I am going for a driving license is because my job is hanging on the same. It’s been almost 2 and half years since I got my learner permit and have did 4 tests so far. If I am not able to secure a driver’s license, I will possible loose my job soon; thanks to the mood swings of the testers. Sorry for venting out, it’s deeply frustrating when you spent so much on rent, driving lessons, tests, cost of living etc. you are getting older and not able to securely tick the box of driving for your job.
Positive experience: Very mixed feelings with this RSA test centre. First of all, the centre itself is well equipped with a seating area, toilet and a Mace store beside. Secondly, when it comes to the quality of examiners - it is very varied and a lot depends on the person. Some of the examiners are extremely strict and will try to mark you down for the silliest of mistakes and make you fail. On the other hand, there are also some very nice examiners, who are very calm and composed. So, it all depends on who you get during the test date. Lastly, coming to the driving route in Raheny - the roads are challenging as they are narrow and many closed junctions and parked cars, mini roundabout etc. But, with practice, you can definitely have a great drive in the test. Make sure you practice all test routes. There are hardly any big roundabouts (except Artane one) and dual carriageway.
Fantastic experience: I had a look at the reviews for this center and I was really scared. Please don't read anything just prepare yourself and go. Nobody is racist there, people just being dramatic. The inspectors are professionals, don't forget it's a test and it's for your and other people safety. I did the test with Sandra, I would say she is strict but nice. She was patient when I was answering the questions and she helped. I had great experience here, just be brave. Good luck everyone.
Negative experience: Go to Killester - don't bother doing your test here. Waiting until I passed write this review. I would give zero stars if I could. I have never been treated with such disrespect. Tester SANDRA BARRY is the most condescending and rudest person I have ever come across. First of all I was treated like I was stupid when asked questions about road signs/rules of the road which I was more than capable in answering & answered right. Once we got into my car she would not conduct the test as the passenger seat wouldn't move further back, she said "i'm not comfortable", which was totally ridiculous as a family member who did her test here in the same car passed. I felt from the beginning she was looking for a reason to not conduct/fail me. Do not go here if you're applying for your driving test its not worth it. I now have to pay another 85 euro to do my test that I never even got to start which I would have been more than capable in passing. Its an absolute disgrace that the RSA haven't looked into the testers in this centre with the amount of 1 star reviews and with a complain I opened with her with the RSA to a reply saying everything I mentioned was a lie. Once we went back to the test centre I was visibly upset which she kept commenting "not my problem". The RSA need an investigation open on SANDRA BARRY as this is very unprofessional and degrading. A tester should make you feel comfortable and at ease and this is a daunting thing to do. Passed in killester no problem the testers are fair and make you feel at ease completely different experience compared to raheny. This test centre should get new testers or shut down.
Fantastic experience: Overall, I am very happy with the experience. The Center is small but there is a waiting room and toilet which can be used. There is a Mace next to it where you can get your Redbull and snacks, and also an office supply shop where you can buy your N sign! :) There are some people in the comments who were complaining about testers. I must say it made me a bit nervous when I was applying as it was my first ever attempt. When I arrived there, there was a lady waiting and she told me it is her 11th attempt!! As you can imagine I got a bit nervous at this stage :) It all went away as when I met my tester. I think I got the most amazing tester I could get. Joanna was not only polite and happy but also patient and understanding. Big heart person! Could not think about the nicer driving experience, and of course, my driving was not perfect got a few mistakes but I am pretty sure if she wanted she could easy fail me. Oh and when I was arriving back I saw the lady from the waiting room and she passed too!!! :D On the other hand, I must say the routes in this centre are VERY difficult so you really need to practice a lot in order to pass. Basically, they want you to drive like not a learner driver. There is no place for luck in this centre. Because there are so many tricky roads and unexpected situations in this area it is very easy to make many same mistakes. If you are not confident in one area it will show up during the test multiple times. There are many, many possible routes, just to give you an example, I did 2h pretest with an instructor who prepares people for tests in Raheny (I was practising in Finglas). Guess what? Non of the roads he showed me was part of my exam :D Anyway, if you are comfortable with many little streets with lots of parked cars, running kids and T junctions with 0 visibility + hidden stop signs then it is a place for you. If you are more comfortable with big spaces, double lines, driving on the national road and big roundabouts go to Mulhuddart (I think it has the highest pass rate), if you are looking for a mixture of both try Finglas. Best of Luck :)
Negative experience: Did my first ever driving test here today. I was extremely nervous and drove badly, so my fail result was completely fair and expected. However, about 5 minutes in at my first mistake, my tester began shaking her head, rolling her eyes and throwing her hands up to heaven. She continued to do things like this for the duration of my test. I have no idea how anyone is supposed to pass with the tester beside them acting like this. I thought testers were supposed to behave professionally and impartially unless they really need to intervene for safety, not to chastise you for mistakes during the test. I feel like the tester saw I was nervous during the theory section of the test and decided there and then that I wouldn't pass and to discourage me for the rest of the test. Failing your driving test is already unpleasant enough, my experience was made far worse by the childish and unprofessional behaviour of my tester. Won't be coming back to Raheny for my next test.
Negative experience: It is a wonderful track but I failed my second attempt today. And no it is not related to anything to my driving. It is the tester named Sandra Barry. She is rude and racist and she will fail you for no reasons. Today before the test, I had two mock tests on the same track within 24 hours and passed these in the eyes of my instructor. When Sandra took the test I asked her that why you are taking my test again and she rudely said I don't remember you and I said but I remember you and there is a rule that the same tester will not take the test. But she took the test even after my object. My whole test was perfect regardless she kept marking minor things. Just before parking the car infront of test center she marked me red for observation and failed me because of this. She is worst. May be not happy with her life and taking revenge from the world due to her own miserable life. I am sure she would be terrible in her personal life without any friends and family. Just living to ruin our life.
Negative experience: I had the worst experience ever!!!!!!. Felt discriminated. Don't take tests here you will not pass for sure. I took my first test here, I drove really well but the tester was rude, she said a few mistakes that I didn't even commit, felt like a "racist". Even my friends had the same experience from this lady....... The Second time I changed my test center to Killester without any prior driving practice in the test route and tbh I made a few mistakes here compared to Raheny, but I passed the test.
Negative experience: Would give it zero stars if I could. Honestly don’t go here, the testers are the rudest people you’ll ever meet especially Brian. First of all at the start of my test, Brian didn’t bother to do a bonnet check. For context, I had previously done a test in Charlestown and gotten 9 grade 2s, none of which were for progress. Every time I was at a T junction where my view was obstructed by parked cars or walking children, obviously, as a normal person would do I would creep up slowly ensuring no cars were coming towards me and my way was clear. This wasn’t good enough for Brian. Testers technically are not meant to repeat directions unless you ask, but in this situation, Brian was extremely rude and cheeky, making comments like “you know we’re turning right here yeah? You know that yeah?” When I would stop at a T junction to verify there were no oncoming cars. This happened approximately 9 times. At a yellow box junction, I was turning right, so normally you would go into the yellow box and wait for a gap in oncoming traffic. The light turned red and I began to move my car out of the junction to clear it. As I was literally moving, Brian decided to say “you’re meant to clear the junction if you didn’t know”. Even if Brian thought I did not clear the junction in time, I should’ve received a grade 2 for that mistake. Brian gave me a grade 3, which is not allowed to be given as I had read the way grades are meant to be appointed. Brian also did not pull me over to demonstrate a hill start. When the test had ended, I stopped my car and Brian immediately hopped out. He did not wait for me to close the windows he told me to open. He did not wait for me to get out of and lock my car, and I had to chase him approximately 15 meters down the road. So rude. He gave me 15 grade 2s, 9 of which were for progress and one grade 3 I shouldn’t have gotten. I don’t understand how you can possibly go from 9 grade 2s in the first test, to 15 the second. It just doesn’t make sense. In general raheny was not a pleasant experience, and most people I have talked to have not had a pleasant experience there either, including multiple reviews I have read since then indicating that the raheny testers are racist. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the reason Brian failed me as I clearly do not have a very Irish name, and I don’t look very Irish either. Just an unlucky person who had to meet Brian.
Fantastic experience: I’ve never had such a pleasant technical fail in my life. It was mine and my driving instructors fault so no problems there but Brian was a complete gent in breaking the news and giving some advice after the fact. It’s very nice to get some bad and frustrating news alongside some empathy. It very much took the sting out of it.
Negative experience: Had to deal with a very Unprofessional and unethical person.
Fantastic experience: Testers are ok. The rsa don't let people into the waiting room or the toilets. So if you are the licenced driver accompanying the learner you have to go elsewhere. The shop next door is great for food and somewhere to sit. Saint Anne's park is good for a stroll. There are some tricky roads if you are doing your test here. But Allied Driving Instructors will be able to help.
Fantastic experience: Thought it was fair. Passed my test 2 faults though. First time I drove in Dublin and completely unfamiliar with the area. Tester seemed fine although it was challenging with a mask on
Positive experience: Friendly staff and good service.
Fantastic experience: One of my favourite driving test centre
Negative experience: I have experience driving for more than 15 years .I had 8 hours driving with certified driving instructor in Ireland .Always applying all the rules .But there are always some excuse not to pass me for full licence.I can not see any reasonable test fail explanations, the tester never give their names .If I have improved one of my mistakes, he is failing me on something i have been good at on my previous test.I have already paid for RCA 720 euros .That is a big money for me .I hope that RCA driving test instructors not doing business on this as I really see that usually they let people to pass on 6 or 8 times .Please be honest and thinks these people have families and responsibilities .
Fantastic experience: Nice test centre in a quite area of Dublin with traffic calmer than average, especially comparing to the city center. Friendly and polite inspectors.
Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience in Raheny today. I felt that my tester was fair, patient and very kind! I felt completely at ease with him in the car and his instructions were clear and easy to follow. I don't think the reviews here are an accurate representation of the centre. I was very happy with my experience!! Thanks guys!
Fantastic experience: initially I was a bit wary after reading the reviews here. I did my test on the 29th of Jan and I honestly think the testers at the center are unlike any mentioned. It was all straightforward. I don't understand the negative reviews, especially the racism aspect when I'm a colored guy myself. If you know how to drive the car and you're familiar with the routes, you'll pass for sure. I passed the first time. Good luck to everyone doing the test!
Positive experience: I found the tester quite rude, when I asked the question after they failed me. He simply stopped explaining to me asked me to go. Don't waste money on this centre, feel bit discriminated in the centre. Update (Feb, 2020): I gave my test today after one year of break from my last fail (precisely 365 days), in this BIG gap I drove/practised for 6 hours only and passed today with 4 majors. The point is I had confidence in my driving and without putting many hours I passed for one main reason: 1. The tester today was very frank, talked to me and made me comfortable: This slight empathy was missing the last two times, I felt like I was giving driving test with a robot and both first and second time I got the same tester and within a few mins of the test he started moving his head in disappointment which just breaks/kills the confidence. Little empathy from the tester can help a lot to build up the confidence.
We are always looking to hear your feedback on how to improve the driving test experience – if you have any complaints or concerns please call us on 1890 40 60 40 or 09625800 or email us on [email protected]
Negative experience: im a hgv adi myself , my 2nd eldest daughter is driving only couple of months , iv brought her out teaching her numerous times as did her car instructor & found her very safe & good learner driver whos progress had come on very well but seems after her 2nd attempt these instructors in raheny are looking for you to be as good as drivers who have years experience on roads hence high fail rate in raheny . want give the young kids a break were you not young yourselves once . money racket at its highest.she wont be going back there again do test .
Negative experience: Scumbags
Negative experience: 1 star is too much for this.. Done my exam 3 times 3 times failed for all sorts of reasons and things i didnt even do ! At the end of exam you hear " you are a great driver you need to work on these and you will pass" really ? Its a joke, and questioning is not even worth it as they dont have time for you and THEY know what you did wrong and NO you cant question that. Keep away from this place as you will only get a bad feeling and after few times not even wanting to drive anymore .
Fantastic experience: I think for RSA it is a time to investigate why there is so many reviews mentioning racism issue for this center. Some feedback would be really helpful.
Fantastic experience: Great service at this centre from drivingtestcarhire.ie
Negative experience: Incorrect information online
Negative experience: It should be sign RASIST NEST IN RAHENY. If you are a foreigner this is a place which you need to avoid. Unfortunately for us video recording prohibited during test otherwise their behaviour will be different, at the same time you can't appeal a test result without it. How smart. Good bless them all. I will pray for their health.
Negative experience: Terrible place, don’t go here. They give you crosses for stupid things, and at the end of your test they say to you laughing: Hope see you again soon. They will not get one cent anymore from me. Terrible people.
Fantastic experience: I normally wouldn't write a review here but the bad reviews made me even more nervous so thought I'd share. I took my first driving test in Raheny today and although I failed unfortunately I must say it was a very good experience. The tester was lovely and gave great and more importantly, constructive feedback. Thanks Michael for making the blow of failing first time a bit easier!!
Negative experience: Rude and unprofessional don't know how these people have a job, Don't even deserve 1 star.
Negative experience: I have failed my exam yesterday, examiner was totally unprofessional and marked me for the things I didn't do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Negative experience: A guy who tested me yesterday conducted my test for no reason, such a bad center with unprofessional examiners.. How to prove that I was right if the guy just wrote whatever mistakes he wanted on his ipad?... so unfair!! so angry!!!
Negative experience: Nothing good to say , they find reasons not to pass certain people just to meet their quota. Went to another test centre and passed with flying colours. I'm convinced this is not a coincidence
Positive experience: Passed first time. Had a very nice tester. All went well and on time. Nothing bad to say just maybe did not agree with some marks he gave me but I passed so I don’t mind.
Negative experience: 1star is too much to give rude staff couldnt even sit my test due to pettiness also they have the lowest pass ratein Ireland so good idea to avoid them
Negative experience: I passed first time but i found them very rude and unprofessional. Totally unhelpful, i feel sorry for any student being exposed to this carry on. The sense of entitlement was jaw dropping.
Fantastic experience: Passed first time. Fair tester.
Negative experience: Terrible experience, my examiner was racist, is the only answer I found when I look back what he did with me yesterday in my drive test. If you are from other country is better try another place.
Negative experience: Don’t bother to do test here better off in finglas, they have quota for the applicants and they fail people on purpose, just ripping off people.
